At the Myrtle Beach International Airport, we recognize that air travel can become a stressful experience when a traveler is not a frequent flyer or familiar with flying.
In an effort to meet the needs of all our passengers, we are working to improve access for special needs travelers whenever improvements are planned for the Airport. Some of the services the Myrtle Beach International Airport currently provide include:
Information Centers
The airport features three Information Centers located on levels 1 and 2. One is located near the middle entrances on the first level of the Terminal Building and one is located on level 2 at the top of the escalator/stairs. The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce also hosts an Information Center on level 1 near baggage claim.
Airport Ambassadors are available to assist travelers with questions or concerns regarding ground transportation, baggage issues, airline services, flight arrivals/departures, concession inquiries, special needs and TDD services.
Airport Accessibility
The airport conforms to State and Federal accessibility codes.
For those using wheelchairs, the airport offers specially designed ramps, curbs, doors and elevators. Located on both levels of the Terminal Building are signs that feature Braille to assist the visually impaired. In addition, seeing-eye/service dogs are permitted in the Terminal Building and on aircraft (please check with your airline).
Airline ticketing and baggage claim are also accessible. Upon prior request, airlines offer special escort and transport services with wheelchair assistance provided from the curb to the security checkpoint and then to the aircraft boarding gate.
Terminal Facilities & Services
On Terminal levels 1 and 2, the Myrtle Beach International Airport offers many facilities and services to its passengers to make traveling as pleasant an experience as possible.
On the first level, the airport offers airline and rental car ticket counters, and a boarding lounge. The second level offers JJ’s Sports Grill and a Hudson gift shop. There is also a food court featuring a Pizza Hut, Java Coffee Shop and Subway located in the second level boarding gate areas. The second level also houses administrative offices and a boarding lounge. There is a meter-greeter area and snack bar at the exit from the security checkpoint.

However, the Myrtle Beach International Airport has trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) on staff 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
