A team of professionals, headed by MB Kahn Construction Co. Inc. and the LPA Group Inc.
is completing work on the first phase of planning for the east side terminal capacity expansion
program.[TCEP]

Phase 1 has included an extensive "visioning" effort to solicit input from stakeholders, community
business leaders, elected officials, and the public to assist the County in identifying the
community's desired goals and objectives regarding passenger terminal development at MYR.
The Kahn team has developed alternatives for achieving the goals/objectives which have been
submitted to County Council to determine the preferred approach to accomplishing the
requirements to complete the program. The Airport Advisory Committee has recommended
alternative #3 which, would enlarge the terminal from 7 to 12 gates and, according to M.B. Kahn,
would bear a design & construction cost of approximately $130 million. On December 18th, county
council approved third reading of an ordinance authorizing the project. Coastal Carolina's BB&T Center for Economics and Community Development's report on the estimated economic and fiscal impacts of the construction phase of the project which can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate link below.
