Baltimore is a place bursting at the seams with history! Home to Fort McHenry, it’s the birthplace of the National Anthem. Edgar Allen Poe used Baltimore as a home base as he scared the willies out of us. And as we move further into the 21st century, this magical town on the Chesapeake is still making history. Baltimore has built itself into one of the major tourism centers on the East Coast. Just one visit to the Inner Harbor, the National Aquarium, or Camden Yards Sports Complex, and you’ll be hooked.

Activities

Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is an attraction in itself. But, surrounding this urban waterfront park, you’ll discover a number of family-friendly places to visit. The National Aquarium features more than 16,000 animals, from sharks to a giant sea turtle, while the Maryland Science Center’s highlights include two-story dinosaurs and interactive exhibits to keep the kids busy. The Port Discovery Children’s Museum features more activities for the little ones, and, a short ride away, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore’s Druid Hill Park engages young and young at heart with the giraffe-feeding station and much more.

Inner Harbor

Baltimore’s Inner Harbor has loads of restaurants, pubs, hotels, and shops, many of them at the popular Harborplace shopping and entertainment center. The Water Taxi will take you from the harbor to surrounding neighborhoods, and the free Charm City Circulator provides daily bus service through several downtown routes.
