ACTIVITIES

Clarksburg is small enough to explore on foot, but big enough to keep you entertained all day and into the night. Clarksburg is a city in and the county seat of Harrison County with a 2010 population census of 16,578 residents. 

OAK MOUNDS

Found on Oak Mounds Road, these mounds are reputed to have been built by the Hopewellian native culture between A.D. 1 and A.D. 500. Some archaeologists feel they are burial mounds while other theories suggest they are for astrological purposes because of positioning to astrological alignments. Excavation was begun in 1968.
