Terminal Information

Rules & Regulations

The staff at Myrtle Beach International Airport strives to keep the terminal safe for all travelers. In order to keep the facility problem-free, the following guidelines have been established. Click on any area for more details.

Firearms

  • Firearms, concealed or otherwise, are not allowed except for sworn law enforcement, authorized armed security or members of the United States Armed Forces on official duty
  • Firearms are not allowed in checked baggage or through a passenger screening checkpoint, unless: the firearm is properly packaged, unloaded and declared for transportation in checked baggage through 49 CFR 1544.203; or the individual is authorized by to carry in the aircraft cabin through 49 CFR 1544.219
  • Hunting or the discharge of firearms on Airport property is disallowed unless authorized by the President/CEO or their designee

Malicious Damage

No person shall destroy, deface, injure or disturb any building, equipment, sign, marker, landscape publicly or privately owned.

Explosives & Hazardous Materials

  • It is unlawful for a person to manufacture, cause to be manufactured, or possess any object or article which is designed to cause damage by fire or any other means to person or property either by ignition, detonation, or other means. (SC Code of Laws 16-23-480).
  • Fireworks shall not be: discharged on any property owned by the Airport; carried in any check bag or through a passenger screening checkpoint; or carried aboard any aircraft unless approved by the airline and the US Department of Transportation
  • Hazardous materials: must be properly labeled and stored in areas designated for such materials; and may not be transported aboard an aircraft unless the provisions of Title 49 part 175 are met.

Alcohol

  • The sale of alcohol is limited to approved tenants of the Airport which hold required state, county, and city licenses
  • Alcohol may be sold between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday and noon and 2 a.m. on Sunday
  • Alcohol may only be consumed in the area of purchase inside the airport

Smoking & Smokeless Tobacco

Smoking and the use of smokeless tobacco is allowed in designated locations around the Airport only. No person shall smoke, use smokeless tobacco, or carry any lit cigar, cigarette, pipe, electronic cigarette, or any smoke-producing product into any building or near any building entrance; into a fuel storage area; within 50 feet of a fuel truck; or anywhere smoking is prohibited by signage

Drugs & Drug Paraphernalia

It is unlawful for a person to possess illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia, which is defined as all equipment, products, and materials of any kind which are used, intended for use, or designed for use in planting, propagating, cultivating, growing, harvesting, manufacturing, compounding, converting, producing, processing, preparing, testing, analyzing, packaging, repackaging, storing, containing, concealing, injecting, ingesting, inhaling, or otherwise introducing into the human body a controlled substance.

Littering

Garbage or other unwanted materials shall be disposed of in the proper receptacles provided for that purpose

Loitering

  • No person shall remain at the Airport or in any building on the Airport property without clear and present reason to be there
  • Persons asked to leave Airport property shall do so promptly

Animals

  • Animals entering the terminal, passenger boarding areas, cargo facilities, or aircraft ramp must be confined in an approved pet carrier. Exceptions include: animals recognized as Service Animals by the American’s with Disabilities Act; animals being trained to become Service Animals by a certified trainer; and animals being used by law enforcement for official business
  • Animals meeting the requirements under the Air Carrier Access Act to travel in the cabin of the aircraft as Service Animals must remain in airline approved pet carriers until boarding the aircraft or immediately after deplaning

Lost & Found

Stop by any Information Booth or call (843) 448-1580 Option #6 for Lost & Found information. All items turned in to the Lost & Found will be logged and stored in a secure location for up to 30 days before being purged by Airport officials.

Emergency Equipment

Fire alarms, hydrants, extinguishers, and emergency call devices will only be discharged and used in emergency situations

Radio Interference

Federal Government regulations 47 U.S.C. 301, 302b, and 333 as well as FCC Commission Rules 15.1c and 2.803g prohibit the use of unlicensed radio frequencies, devices which interfere with radio reception, and the use of intentional radiators and jamming devices

Model Aircraft

The use of model aircraft, kites, hot air balloons or parachutes on any part of the Airport is prohibited.
