Global Entry is a CBP Trusted Traveler Program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Though intended for frequent international travelers, no minimum number of trips is necessary to qualify for the program. Participants may enter the United States using automated Global Entry kiosks at select airports. Global Entry is currently available at 58 U.S. airports and 17 Preclearance international airports, and membership is valid for five years. For complete details on the program, please visit https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry.
The program is designed to enable efficient travel and provide added security for international travelers. While Global Entry aims to speed up travel, members are still subject to the same laws and regulations as other travelers. They may be selected for further examination when entering the United States. Global Entry members are also eligible to participate in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Precheck program, which expedites screening through TSA checkpoints at participating airports.
Those interested in participating in the upcoming interview must have completed their application and received conditional approval before their interview appointment. Those who have not yet completed an application may do so but should note that processing times vary, and the airport cannot guarantee conditional approval in time for the event. To apply, visit the Global Entry website and click “Apply Now,” which links to the Trusted Travelers Program (TTP) site (https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/). Applicants must create an account on the TTP site and then log in to submit a Global Entry application. A $100 non-refundable application fee is paid online at the time of application. Once pre-approved, applicants will receive a message indicating they are conditionally approved for Global Entry and are invited to schedule an interview.
Interviews for the event can now be scheduled online through the TTP website.
